  1. I downloaded the extension and have not been able to see a score on any website?
    • When using the Chrome browser, make sure that extension is pinned. To do that, follow these super easy steps: 
      •  Click the “Extensions” button next to your Profile avatar, the one that looks like a tiny puzzle piece.
      • On the dropdown, look for Ethically. Click the “pushpin” icon until it turns blue.
      • Now for the fun part: Anytime you visit a website, you will see the company’s letter grade next to the Ethically icon.
      • If your favorite store is not as eco- friendly as you thought it was, Ethically will show you better alternatives you can visit. Simply click on the Ethically icon on the browser bar and you’ll see the option to expand the pop-up to preview the options.
  1. What if there is no score shown when I look up a company?
    • Please bring this to our attention by clicking the “Request Info” button and our team will let you know when we receive data from the specific company.
  1. How can I share this extension with my family and friends?
    • We’re delighted that you want to share our experience with the world. To do so, click the bottom left share symbol on the Ethically extension. Read more about our Referral program here to learn about how you get rewarded for sharing.
  1. Where does the sustainability data come from?
    • We get our information from CSRHub’s rating system which considers over 735 sources. Our scores are constantly updated with new information and data when it is made available. You can find more information on our methodology here.
  1. What information do we collect?
    • We collect information on how you engage with our extension so that we can enhance your experience. Don’t worry we do not share your data without your consent. 
  1. Who can I contact if I have questions about privacy?
    • You can refer to our privacy policy as it details the information we collect or if you can’t find the answer to your questions, you can contact our CEO at jada@ethically.life. 
  1. Will I ever be able to use Ethically on my mobile phone? 
    • Eventually, we plan to build out Ethically in as many places as you browse the internet. For now though we are laser focused on making your chrome experience as good as can be.
  1. How can I update my Chrome privacy settings?
    • Just follow these steps!
      1. Click the puzzle piece icon in the upper right hand corner of your Chrome Browser.
      2. Scroll to where the Ethically extension is.
      3. Click the button with the three dots.
      4. Hover over “This can Read and Change Site Data”
      5. Select your preference for giving us site access (when you click the extension is the most restrictive).
    • Editors note: We want to reiterate that we only ever use this data to attempt to make Ethically a wonderful experience for you. We encourage you to set your privacy settings to whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.
  1. If you live in California and use Ethically, you have some additional rights when it comes to your data.
    • Right to Delete: You can ask us to delete the personal information we have about you.
    • Right to Know: You can ask us for a list of the categories of personal information we have about you, the categories of sources from which we get personal information, the business purposes for which we collect personal information, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared (you can also see that in this Privacy Policy). You also can ask us for a copy of the pieces of personal information we have about you.
    • California law gives you the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. But Ethically does not and will not sell (or rent, or disclose for value) any of your personal information in the first place. So you’re good.
